We believe that transforming your home into an enjoyable and unique space is a truly fulfilling experience. Our focus is on eco-friendly and sustainable organization while creating functional spaces in every room. We pride ourselves in our ability to repurpose and recycle old items to give them a new lease of life, while also reducing unnecessary waste.
We also believe that organization doesn’t always have to mean spending a lot of money. Instead, we prioritize working with what you already own and finding value in pre-loved items. We scour flea markets, quality secondhand stores and other unique sources for interesting pieces of furniture, shelving, and other items to complement your existing decor.
Our ultimate goal is to create a calm and comfortable space in your home that functions in a way that works best for you. We are excited to collaborate with you on the journey to achieving your perfect home organization with The Sorted Method.

THE SORTED METHOD
Sorted Home Organizing provides professional organizing services with an environmentally friendly and cost savings approach. The Sorted Method has been helping residents of Fairfield and Litchfield counties in Connecticut and Westchester County in New York create functional spaces in every room with what they already own.
WHAT IS THE SORTED METHOD?
We all deserve to be in a home we feel comfortable in. Your space is unique to you. We approach every organizing project with questions first. For example, how do you envision using this space? Do you want a home office where you can focus without distractions? Do you just want to be able to park your car in the garage? Once we understand your goal, then we create an action plan together. We also look at what you already own in the home for organizing needs, so we don’t buy unnecessary bins. In time, we may decide to look for unique pieces of furniture, shelving and more. We can shop antiques, flea markets and quality second hand stores. No need to buy expensive containers. Whatever you choose, we’ll go with it. This is your journey!
WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR EXTRA STUFF?
The options are endless, but we will suggest a few of our favorite ideas, such as swap it parties and charities that deserve our support. Of course, it’s entirely your choice. Please know that we would never just throw something away, especially without your consent. We understand how hard it can be to purge, and how sentimental items can be to you. We will not come in like a tornado! Rather we work together on your space goals, create actionable plans and timelines, and find space for the things you truly love.
WHAT PRODUCTS DO WE USE FOR ORGANIZING?
Truly, whatever we can! We prefer using items you already own, but should we need to buy, we always recommend up cycled and unique alternatives. We’re not saying big box stores aren’t an option, they are great and serve a purpose. They also carry new and sustainably sourced materials (not plastic!) so we can always seek them out. But we assume you’re interested in the Sorted approach because you care about our world and would like to consume less, support your local vendors and save a little money.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SUSTAINABILITY?
Oh boy, does that word get thrown around a lot! Sustainability can mean so many things, but to us it’s about the choices we make and creating long-term solutions. We can’t all be 100% eco-friendly all the time, but we can choose to make improvements every day. In the organizing world, we have found there are many ways to make a home or office pleasant and inviting, without having to throw away and buy brand new stuff. Buy vintage and support your local vendors. Give that sad book shelf an updated look with a new coat of paint. Swap clothes with friends. We can discuss ideas as we go, but the point is, there are always sustainable solutions for your project.
